Dr. Rachel V. Rice, D.C.

Hello, I am Dr. Rachel Rice, your Sterling Heights chiropractor.

As a mother, wife and chiropractor I know how hard it is to find balance in life and to make time for the things we must do, while still fitting in some fun and relaxation.

It is a fast paced life that we live these days.  Taking care of ourselves is a task that is easily forgotten, until it is too late.  We work on keeping up with the fast track of time and balance everything we can into those 12 hours of daylight we call, a day.   Most of us aren’t getting the proper rest each night to get up and do it again, and yet we will because we have spouses, kids, parents that need us to take care of them.  That we do, at our body’s expense.  If you aren’t familiar with chiropractic you might be wondering what does this have to do with my back.  I hear this sentence a lot. “My back has no trouble so I don’t need a chiropractor”.  But in the same breath that person is exhausted, and worried about everything from getting proper nutrition to having time to relax.  That is what we do as chiropractors, we remove nervous system interference.

So what is nervous system interference?  It is your nervous system not working as well as it could. Would you use your electricity if it wasn’t properly functioning in your home?  The nervous system is your personal electricity.  Make sure the power is on and signals are flowing.  What causes this interference?  There are three stresses emotional, physical and chemical.

Every day we are bombarded with situations, toxins, mental stressors that put a strain on our nervous system.  Please feel free to come in and talk about this in more detail and more specific to your personal needs.  I am a chiropractor who specializes in leading you on your journey to health.

Dr. Aaron Rice, D.C., C.A.C.C.P.

Hello!  My name is Dr. Aaron R. Rice.  I was born in Madison Heights, MI and raised in Hazel Park, MI.  I received an excellent education from my primary schooling and had teachers that supported and encouraged me along the way.  I have been a chiropractic patient since I was only a few months old.  My parents after several months of their first born not eating, sleeping and constant vomiting were at their wits end.  They had tried everything and had taken me to about every test possible without relief for me or them.  Finally a friend recommended taking me to a chiropractor cause it had helped their children.  Reluctantly they took me and it changed all of our lives.  I slept for the first time in months for more than 30 minutes ……well actually closer to 10 hours.  The vomiting stopped and I started to thrive.  This was my beginning in the world of the natural form of healthcare called chiropractic.

In my summer going into high school I was hit by a full size conversion van, while riding my bicycle in the crosswalk.  I was injured with pinched nerves in my neck and back as diagnosed by the emergency room doctors.  I started freshman year in a neck brace and was miserable and in constant pain.  My sports playing days were over, my friends continued to play basketball, which I loved and I sat on the sidelines.  It was my chiropractor, who we finally went to that helped take the stress off my spine and get me back to being a kid.  It was the second time that chiropractic had given me back a fighting chance and I knew then that I had found my calling.

My passion is to share the vitalistic approach that chiropractic is fundamentally rooted.  It has changed my life and my family’s.  Some may call me weird and I guess I am a little but aren’t we all?  I appreciate the human frame and believe that we were designed to be healthy and vibrant.  That self- healing and self- regulating are normal.  Through the holistic approach that chiropractic takes I hope to reduce the stresses on those who I come in contact by through evidence based clinical care, specific spinal adjustments, lifestyle modification, supportive care and nutritional support.  Chiropractic is great for those who have tried everything else and are on the  verge of giving up…….but if that’s true then it’s even more important for those who are looking to add an integral part to their health care regimen.

Brittany Manninen - Chiropractic Assistant

I have lived in both city and rural areas, but my favorite is definitely city. Meeting new people, making strong friendships, and helping others have always been important to me and they are so much easier to do in a city setting. If I had to choose just three adjectives to describe myself, I would choose: bubbly, understanding, and reliable.   I am the mother to a beautiful, intelligent, and strong-willed little girl named Madison.  We have overcome many  obstacles and look forward to overcoming more in the future. Currently we are loving life and choosing our journeys as we go.

Chiropractic has changed my life and that of my daughter. I was in a car accident 5 years ago and I experience horrible migraines because of the damage that occurred to my neck in the accident.  Fortunately, my migraines have decreased in frequency and intensity since I have started receiving chiropractic care. I recommend it to anyone who suffers from migraines. It was something new to me but as I learned more and saw the health of my daughter improve I began to love this thing called chiropractic.  If you have questions I will answer to the best of my ability and if I don't have the answer I will find one for you!

I graduated from Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield, Michigan in Therapeutic Massage.  I am a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

I have always had a  great passion to help people maintain their health.  It's great to see how massage therapy can change people physicaly and emotionally for the better.  Through my experience, I have learned to incorporate therapeutic relaxation techniques (not invasive and painful) to customize a massage so that the client will recieve the most benefit.

My favorite modalities include Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue and Hot Stone Massage and I also apply joint mobilization and stretching technuqes to increase the effectiness of the massage session. I reccomend monthly massage therapy visits for basic maintenance and promoting optimal relaxation.

Remember: "Stress, anxiety, depression - Doesn't have to be a part of your life.  Relax it away one hour at a time."
